At nearly 2000 metres altitude Troodos Resort Mount Olympus is the highest location to stay on the island, and is actually on a number of walking routes.
Snow is highly likely from January through March with a few low quality restaurants and cafes but very few shops and the place is generally deserted after dark in winter.
Troodos Resort Mount Olympus is more suited to skiers than walkers, but is a unique experience.
